Climbing Coach
Fenrock is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Self Employed Climbing Coach to deliver our Boulder School sessions every Saturday at our centre in Wisbech. This is an exciting opportunity to work with climbers of all ages and abilities in a friendly, community-focused environment.
You will lead structured group sessions that follow Fenrock’s Boulder School programme, helping participants develop technique, confidence, and safety awareness on the wall. Sessions range from beginner introductions to skill-building for more experienced young climbers.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, progressive coaching sessions in line with our Boulder School framework.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Record attendance and progress for each group.
- Communicate clearly with parents, participants, and the Fenrock team.
Requirements:
- Foundation Coach qualification minimum
- Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (required for working with young people)
- Public Liability Insurance (self-employed basis).
- Experience coaching children or youth groups preferred.
- Excellent communication and people skills.

Front-of-House Crew Member
Location: Fenrock Climbing Centre, Wisbech
Fenrock is looking for enthusiastic and reliable crew members to join our team on a zero hours contract. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for climbing and for helping others progress in a supportive, community-driven environment.
Requirements
Applicants must hold all of the following:

Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) or Bouldering Wall Instructor (BWI)

Valid full-day First Aid at Work certificate

Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (required for working with young people)

Legal right to work in the UK
Role Responsibilities

Deliver safe, engaging climbing and bouldering sessions for all ages and abilities

Support our Boulder School, group sessions, and community events

Promote safe climbing practices and ensure a positive visitor experience

Contribute to Fenrock’s welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
Contract Details

Type: Zero hours contract (no guaranteed minimum hours)

Hours: Offered on an on-demand basis depending on business need and your availability

Typical shifts include evenings, weekends, and school holiday periods

Future opportunities: Potential to move into regular part-time or full-time contracts as the centre continues to grow
Pay & Benefits (from April 2025)

Age 21 and over: £12.21 per hour

Age 18–20: £10.00 per hour
